Waterville Plaza GAS / Parking On Rte 202 in Winchendon Springs Ma.

This is the recommended gas stop. Fully Groomed
To access The trail system from parking, the trail leaves from the back of the store take a right on the old RR bed and follow signs to Lake Dennison ITS 71, the trail will come to a T and there will be a block gate to your left. Turning LEFT through the block gates is ITS 71 South.
Access to Waterville gas from ITS 71, from the south you will go under the RR trestle coming into Lake Dennison. About a 1/2 mile up you will go through a BLOCK gate. Turn right here and follow the signs to Waterville, approximately 4 miles.
From the north 2 ways off ITS 71 after you go through yellow gate by the beach and parking area, about 1/8 mile up you will cross a power line. You can take a left here and get to Waterville this is non-maintained. Or proceed past the power lines 1/4 mile and before going through the block gate take a left and follow the signs.

This is a smaller, more experienced needed trail. Off of ITS 71 from the south after you go under rte 2 and travel through Templeton State Forest you will come back on to the RR bed. Turn right and follow the RR bed back to the end where it meets rte 2. Take a left here and follow the marked trail out to Huhtalas.
From the north Take ITS 71 South you will go over the big bridge over the Otter River and through the baseball field. After the rte 202 road crossing you will be back up on the RR bed. Follow the RR bed past the ITS 71 signs staying on the RR bed, follow the RR bed back to the end where it meets rte 2. Take a left here and follow the marked trail out to Huhtalas.

Plenty of parking Bathrooms and bar when open. Breakfast coming soon. Easy to find, instead of turning into Lake Dennison turn up the road across the street. Mill Glenn Rd. at the end of this road turn left. Snowbound is 3/4 mile up on the right.

GPS; 74 Maple st. Baldwinville Ma. There is some parking here enough for 4-5 trucks and trailers. It is roadside, but it is a dead end road & safe to park.

Parking for Barre / Oakham area On the map you will see Smithfield - the parking areas are on either side of the river by the Oakham / Barre town line. There is some parking further north on 122 across the street from the DCR gas station next to our bridge in Barre.

Parking for Templeton / Lake Dennison The Yahoo map says Alger St. it is not accurate. There will be a big sign that says "Lake Dennison Recreation Area". This is the parking lot.
